It’s less about having proper qualifications and more about fudging sole trader accounts to secure a high-interest loan from a dealership. Just ask your friendly car salesperson, and they’ll happily tell you about all the tax benefits you can take advantage of as a sole trader with an ABN. Don’t stress about the payments—just use the GST you’ve collected from your invoices, which should go towards your BAS statements. The ATO won’t come after you for a few years anyway.
