Thoughts on Gen 3 V6 on 38s… big rims?

Opinions on these wheels and tires? I’m not a big fan personally. I got a good deal on them and needed 38s. Since then, I’ve sold that truck. Should you stick with 17-inch on a Raptor or go big like 22s pictured?

Looking for a good set of wheels—17 or 18 inches. Drop a picture if you’re running Methods or something similar. How do you like them?

More rubber, less wheel (IMHO). :call_me_hand: Regardless, anyone with a Raptor is cool in my book.

I completely agree. I don’t like going bigger than 17, to be honest. A friend of mine sold those wheels to me for super cheap, so I put them on, but you’re definitely not hitting any jumps with those.

@Davi
Some deals you just can’t pass up. Enjoy the truck, man! :call_me_hand:

I actually sold that one, lol. I’m looking for an R. I also have a Gen 2 that was my late father’s. Looking for some ideas on wheels for it.

@Davi
My condolences. As far as wheels go, you can’t go wrong with Methods, Fifteen52’s, Icon, and for looks maybe Rotiforms.

I’ll definitely check those out. Thank you! I was thinking about the gold Methods, but that’s a little out there. I know I’ll end up hating them, so I’ll probably just stick with black. I have the factory block wheels, but I’m looking for something with a bit more offset.

I totally agree, ha ha! Looks so stupid. No bigger than 17 or 18. No chance I could jump this thing. It looks like a mall crawler. Thankfully, it’s gone; I’m in the market for an R.

I guess this is a roast of my old wheels now :joy:. I’m not mad; they are ugly as hell.

Ha ha, I completely agree. 17 inches is as big as I’d like to go. That truck sold anyways to my uncle. Looking for a 2024 R and trying to find some nice wheels for my Gen 2 that was my late father’s.

I’ve got the same rims in the 17 variety.

Yeah, they’re not too popular. People seem to hate them. I just got a good deal on them back when I lifted it for the Raptor. I’ll stick with 17 or 18 inches. I go on a lot of rallies and jump stuff like that. It would’ve never handled that.

@Davi
It’s funny you say that. I’ve had no issues with mine at all, and I’ve beaten on them hard. Maybe I’m lucky; who knows.

Oh, I had no issues with them, but they were 38s, so I probably couldn’t jump. I never took that truck on a rally. We drive pretty hard, though. I just had coils all the way around. I’m not sure what the exact lift was, but it fit 38s fine. You can see compared to my dad’s old truck; it’s set up pretty high. I sold that one to my uncle. I’m looking to get a 2024 R.

To me, anything bigger than a 17" or 18" wheel just doesn’t look right on a Raptor. I’ve seen guys off-road with 20s, but that’s just not my cup of tea.

Looking for a good deal on a 2024 R so I can put that one up. I don’t wanna put a bunch of miles on it. It belonged to my late father, so it means a lot to me. That’s the reason I have two trucks; it doesn’t make a lot of sense unless everybody knows the backstory.
