Alright, hear me out. Do I go for the Stage 1 tune from Goose for a little more power and disable things like auto-stop and the TCM? Or do I leave it stock and just enjoy it as is?
It’s a 2020, 802a package with 33,500 miles. Mostly for driving around town and some beach time. I like the way it drives now, but a bit more power is definitely tempting.
Just picked up a Cobb Accessport with the ECU/TCM tune from GooseTuned. Haven’t logged data yet, but already noticing a big difference in power delivery and smoother shifts. Goose recommends getting the Ford Performance colder plugs. Those are arriving today, so I’ll install them and get some logs sent in. I’m in the same boat as you – wanted a bit more pep in my 2020 802a with 38k miles, and it’s worth it.

Sounds awesome! I think it’s time to go ahead and checkout!
Perfect timing, too. Cobb is offering a $100-$150 rebate on Accessports if you go through them or GooseTuned. I got the Accessport mount that connects to the ‘oh crap’ handle. I don’t plan to leave it connected all the time, but it’s nice to have the option to use it as extra gauges.
Go for it! I’ve been running Stage 2 since 10k miles and am at 45k now. Truck drives and shifts so much better with the TCM updated. Feels lighter and less bogged down.
I have a 2020 802a in race red – it was my dad’s before he passed. I sold my 2023 looking to get an R. If you haven’t used Forscan yet, turning off the adaptive transmission really changes how it drives. My 2023 had a Goose tune and intercooler – fast and loud, but I still feel more connected to this Gen 2. I take it off-road, jump it, and it’s holding up great at 85k miles.
