Not really. It’s mostly for airflow, sound reduction, and maybe to block some rocks. I ran without mine for over a year—no issues.

Snow seems to be the main culprit.
That’s exactly what happened. We got 12 inches of snow here in North Texas, which is a lot for us.
Should’ve been taken off during the first oil change.
It’s just in the way during oil changes anyway.
It’s basically a leak cover, nothing more.
