Brow tines? Around here, we’d definitely call that an 8-point.
Here’s a guide on how scoring varies by region. It’s interesting how different areas have their own traditions.

Should you take the money, buy it back as salvage, and fix it up?

Just a scratch!

Exactly.
Biggest buck I ever hit was with a 1996 F250. My truck ended up worse than yours though!

I thought he cleared my bumper, then BAM, plastic everywhere. Had to explain to my daughters why I grabbed the rifle to end his suffering. It was a rough morning.
@Pierce
Yeah, mine died on impact, but I’d have done the same if needed. Deer can really mess up a truck though. Sounds like you handled it well with your kids.
You should mount it and hang a Ford logo above it for style.
Deer hunting is expensive, even when unintentional.
So, are those antlers coming home with you?
Biggest caliber you’ve got: the F150.
No way! Just fix it yourself instead.
Let them total it, get the check, buy it back, fix it up, and enjoy the cash. If it’s just a work truck, who cares about resale value?
Can you take it to a shop to get a detailed estimate before deciding? Sometimes insurance underestimates repair costs.
Bet that’s gonna taste good.
Poor buck didn’t stand a chance.
Anyone got recommendations for bull bars or brush guards to avoid this?

Ranch Hand is a solid choice. I avoided them because of the bulky look, but they’re super functional.
What the buck?!
Looks like an opportunity to mod it! Buy it back, throw on some wide fenders and suspension upgrades.
