I just got my first Raptor (2024, 801A package) a couple of days ago and have a few questions:
Should I get wheel locks?
Crime in my area (DMV) has been increasing, and I’m worried about my wheels being stolen overnight. I park it in my driveway since it doesn’t fit in my garage.
Best antenna options?
I want to replace the stock antenna. Any good recommendations?
Does this PPF price seem fair?
I got a quote for $2,200 to do full front PPF (side mirrors and headlights included). My truck is black, so I’m considering it to keep it looking clean. Mostly, it’ll just be used on roads.
Mudflaps… yay or nay?
Any suggestions for good mudflaps?
For reference, my truck has a twin-panel sunroof and tough bed, and I paid $78K before taxes and fees (4.99% APR for 60 months with $30K down).
I got a full PPF wrap on my truck for $6K here in Seattle.
Wheel locks are a small deterrent, but if someone really wants the wheels, they’ll find a way. The real challenge for a thief is the weight—each wheel and tire combo is over 100 lbs, and they’d need serious equipment to get them off with the suspension travel your truck has.

Thanks! I already bought an extended warranty through Flood Ford. Also, you’re right—stealing wheels off this truck seems like a hassle because of the weight.

If you’re thinking about an antenna, check out the AntennaMastsRus Short Rubber Antenna for Ford F-150. People say it’s easy to install and looks great, but reception issues seem common. Hope this helps!
Congrats! Definitely get wheel locks for peace of mind—McGard’s are solid and around $60. PPF is a must in my opinion, especially on a black truck. I skipped it on mine, and now the desert wind has scratched it up. Haven’t tried mudflaps, but they can’t hurt. I’m still using the stock antenna, though.
Congrats on the truck! I’m also in the DMV and considering a Raptor. I used to off-road in the desert back in SoCal, but I’m not sure where to go around here. Have you looked into trails or areas to take it off-road? Beaches might be fun, though.
