Is it the front or rear part of the moonroof?

It’s the front.
How much is the replacement panel? It’s usually held in by a few screws, pretty straightforward if you’re up for it.
Did some big off-road tires throw a rock up there?
Satellite hit it? lol
Might be time for a new truck!
I used a DIY kit from Amazon. I’d suggest putting tape over it first to keep dirt out until you can repair it.
Yeah, this one’s gonna be tough.
If I can’t use the windshield repair kit, would clear Gorilla Tape work in the meantime?

Hey, former auto glass repair tech here. You’ve gotten a mix of info here, some good, some not so much.
Your moonroof’s laminated glass can indeed be repaired with specific resins or epoxy. The advice to cover it to avoid contamination is solid—dust and moisture can mess up the repair’s appearance. Ideally, find a glass tech who’s confident with this kind of fix (definitely not Safelite).
Bottom line: laminated and tempered glass aren’t the same, and while some people mean well, they’re not always right about this stuff. Let me know if you have other questions!
