How are so many Cambodians owning Ford raptors i have never seen so many in any place. Are the Ford raptors cheaper in Cambodia/south east Asia because the base model of a new raptor is about 78k usd not including about a 9.8 percent tax where I live.
It seems like these are Ranger Raptors compared to America’s F150 Raptors.
However, there are many extremely expensive cars in Phnom Penh. I come from a very affluent city in the West, but I’ve never seen vehicles like these. Must be due to new wealth, I suppose…
Ranger Raptors (new) are still 80K~.
Irresponsible micro finances institutions
First, there’s a lot of money in Cambodia, and people don’t need to conceal it yet.
For example, when Italy and Greece began cracking down, they found many “unemployed” people (in terms of taxes) driving Porsches and Ferraris.
Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if many of these cars were bought cheaply from the US with salvage titles.
But the number of luxury cars in Phnom Penh rivals or even surpasses that of many wealthy cities.
Ford has a factory here… can people afford them? Oh, you think everyone here is poor, don’t you?
Cars here are a status symbol, so don’t be surprised to see nice ones, haha!
The money from selling land often goes toward purchasing a property in a borey and a large SUV or 4WD vehicle as a status symbol.
