I’m considering this 2011 Ford Raptor with 142k miles. Got the seller to agree to $23k. What do you think?
I get that the truck market is crazy, but $23k for that? Not worth it.

Totally agree it’s whack right now. It’s hard to find anything decently priced that also holds its value.
Definitely have a mechanic check it out first. If you’re not planning on adding a ton of miles and don’t mind spending extra on gas, it could be okay. I just bought a 2010 Raptor with 100k miles for $20k. It’s all about how well it was maintained. Good luck!
That price feels high for the condition, at least in my area.
142k is a lot. At 80k miles, it’d make more sense for $23k.
That’s a lot of maintenance waiting to happen for $23k, especially since it’s a Raptor. Previous owner probably pushed it hard.
You’re going to end up spending way more than $23k after it starts breaking down consistently.
I bought a Focus and will never touch another Ford again.
For a Raptor, the price seems fair. The underside looks clean, but I wouldn’t call it a steal. Dealers would probably ask $30k for something similar.
For those wondering: mutual friends say the owner kept it clean and never took it off-road. He’s selling because he has a second kid and needs something more family-friendly. He even showed me the purchase order for his next vehicle.
It’s a Ford. Not worth that much.
$23k for 142,000 miles? Nope. Check online for similar models with the same mileage and year to compare prices.
Don’t buy it. Looks like it’s been in a major front-end collision and patched up with junkyard parts. The yellow writing and clean, shiny components give it away.

The yellow writing is probably from an A/C recharge, not a collision. Still, with those miles and age, it’s not a great deal. I’d look at an F-150 instead.
@Jess
The radiator hose sticker, shiny fuse box, and brand-new air intake all raise red flags. Might be worth checking the crumple zones underneath just to be safe.
Pro tip: Buy a truck from Texas and either pick it up or pay for shipping. Just be cautious of flood-damaged vehicles.
$23k? Really?
I’d be cautious about anything that was probably bought to be driven hard, like Raptors or 8-cylinder sports cars.
