Came across a 2010 Ford SVT Raptor 6.2L for sale, any advice appreciated

Came across a 2010 Ford SVT Raptor 6.2L with 149k miles for just under $18k after fees.

Test drove it and it rode great, the only issue was it sounded like something was maybe loose or rattling, I suspect it was the plastic lining or the bed as it was loose at some parts.

I have never owned a truck so my knowledge on them is limited and I would greatly appreciate any advice, insights, or comments from you guys.

Thank you!

TSW shock rebuilds are a positive indicator. Overall, the truck appears to be in pretty good condition.

Is this located in the rust belt? The underside seems to have been repainted, which might be concealing a lot of rust.

I’ve seen this truck; I’m also in northern VA. It has had 5 owners and has been at this dealership for over a year. As for its appearance, there’s no rust, and the shocks, being 4 years old, should be fine. Overall, just be ready for some repairs. I bought a one-owner 2011 SuperCrew with 150K miles from Warrenton Ford for $20K, and it looked super clean, but keep in mind that these trucks are 13 years old and will require some routine maintenance due to their age and mileage.

I’d say go for it if you’re prepared to invest about $3-5K into it soon.

Make sure to check the 4x4 actuation. The plastic hoses can crack, causing a rattling sound that might come from the front wheel wells. White Gen 1 Raptors are awesome! In my black 2012, the paint has really faded over time. You’re going to love it!

I recommend having a pre-purchase inspection conducted by a trusted mechanic before you buy it. However, as another commenter mentioned, rebuilt shocks are a positive sign, and the truck looks clean overall.

I’d be curious about how it sounds if you knock on the areas with that unattractive spray. Regardless, it’s essential to have a third-party mechanic inspect it for you.
