New here, but just picked up my 2024 Raptor this past Friday: 801A, pano moonroof, spray-in liner, tonneau cover, Antimatter Blue.
Long story short, looked for a place in 2021 that would sell for MSRP. Wound up waiting in line for 2.5 years until mine came in (which was ultimately ok because I was driving a paid off Lexus that entire time, socking away money).
Cool thing is that a lot of options I didn’t add in my original order now come as standard equipment in the new trucks: pro power, pro trailer, power tailgate, tailgate step, think that’s it.
The one thing I didn’t order but I’m so glad I got was the graphics - I think they look great on the Antimatter Blue, really surprised how much I love their styling. What are your thoughts on the new graphics?
Since you’re asking for my opinion, I’ll share it. I’m not a fan of the cosmetic changes made to the Raptor. I think the Gen 2 has the best look, followed by Gen 1, and each revision of the Gen 3 just gets worse. The headlights and grille on the new model are pretty awful.
I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but I don’t think we’ll see many “Fraptors” with the fake Raptor grille anymore because it just doesn’t look that good. It feels like Ford is pushing the design too far, almost like they’re using character sliders in a video game. The front looks like it has bugged-out eyes, while the back is so toned down that it resembles an XLT with an appliqué.
Mechanically, the Gen 3 is great—I’ve got no complaints; they’ve really perfected the drivetrain and suspension. The interior on the Gen 3 might be nicer, but I’m not a fan of the bigger screen. I prefer buttons and a tough, rugged interior, and the new design feels a bit too luxurious for an off-road truck, although I don’t hate it.
I truly love the Gen 2 and wish it was available with the 37" package from the factory like the Gen 3.
