I placed an order on 1/31/24 for a Raptor R with this dealer for msrp. It was confirmed by ford on 7/1/24 with a scheduled production date of 10/7/24. Everything was going fine until the dealership got a new sales manager 2 days ago. Today they called to tell me that the order was originally supposed to go to the brother in law of the owner of the dealership because he technically placed the order first and that they couldn’t sell it to me anymore. I just find it strange for 3 months there were no issues until they got a new sales manager. Long story short, I can’t stand ford dealers.
The sales manager wanted a new R, or the “brother-in-law” will add a few hundred miles to it, and then it’ll be sold with a $20k markup as a used car. Alternatively, they might sell it out of state or trade it with another dealership.
Forget dealerships, especially Ford.
The exact same thing happened to me. They claimed Ford “canceled” the order and said they tried to contact me (which they didn’t).
I ended up buying from somewhere else, and now my fleet business goes to a different dealership.
Contact Ford Corporate and inform them that your dealer is reallocating your order. This is a major violation—they’re not allowed to take custom orders and turn them into inventory. If that were allowed, every dealer would have “customers” order all the desirable models just to get the allocations for themselves.
Ford Customer Relationship Center: 1-800-392-3673.
Post the name of the dealer. Worthless piles of crap.
Start calling them out on social media.
Are all dealerships the same? I have had nothing but shitty experiences with them, from purchases to service. There’s always issues and it always takes forever to get them resolved.
