Just got a new truck and heard there’s a way to make the headlights move up and down when a car comes. Any other cool mods I should consider?
I’ve done a few things like Lincoln-style folding mirrors, turned off auto start/stop, and disabled the beep when I get out with the keys still in the truck. I did it all using Forscan.

I’ve had my Ranger Raptor for about a month and can’t stand the auto start/stop. How do I turn it off permanently? I always turn it off manually, but it resets every time I restart the truck!
@Darby
You’ll need to reprogram it using Forscan.

Doesn’t that void your warranty?

Here’s a YouTube link showing how: https://youtu.be/Aj3Nng1pwKM?si=E0D4KQ0YrUM6FGD8

Thanks, appreciate it!

Why did you turn off the beep? And what are Lincoln-style mirrors?
@Vince
The beep was annoying. Every time I’d run inside the house or into a store, it would honk as soon as I got a few steps away from the truck. Scared me a few times, haha. About the mirrors: the Gen 2 Raptors don’t fold in when you lock the truck. With Lincoln-style mirrors, they fold in when you lock it and unfold when you start it.
@Farrell
Getting rid of that honk was a lifesaver! But OP doesn’t need the mirror mod—Gen 3s already have auto-folding mirrors from the factory.

That honk is super annoying.

I don’t think I’ll leave my truck running when I get out, but good to know!
@Vince
I thought the same, but you’d be surprised how often it comes up. For me, it was mostly when checking tight trails or grabbing the mail. That honk got real old, real fast.

Sounds kinda funny when you think about it.
@Sloane
Yeah, it had its moments! One time, on a quiet trail at night, I left the door open to avoid the honk, but it closed on its own and honked. I almost jumped out of my skin!
Only thing to do is jump it and send it to the moon!
Got the same truck, I think. Mine’s a 2021 with basic dealership decals. Only real mods I’ve done are a firmware update and a bed cover. Everything else is stock.
You already have auto-dimming headlights. If you’re talking about reprogramming them for glare-free functionality, it’s a nice improvement. You’ll need to learn Forscan for that.

Glare-free headlights are awesome. Also, make sure to program your fog lights to stay on with your high beams, or they’ll cut out automatically.
Tint the windows, add a bed cover, and drive the hell out of it.
