A big truck with a 5.5 ft bed is funny in itself. That rack doesn’t limit much; the short bed already does that.
I ride dirt bikes, and with this setup, the tailgate can’t even go down to fit a bike. Feels like the roof rack trend is just for show.
People managed without roof racks and ladders 10 years ago… I doubt everyone suddenly has more stuff to haul.

Totally agree. Dirt bikes and gear go in my bed all the time with the tailgate down. So much easier than hauling a trailer.
@Thayer
Seems like the tonneau cover is also fading out. Trends come and go.

That rack is for the rooftop tent (RTT). This setup is specific, just like dirt biking. It’s removable if needed.

Didn’t Ford use a Raptor hauling a dirt bike in ads? Feels like dirt biking is a perfect match for Raptors.

Not sure about ads, but I doubt the truck was designed just for that. Americans do crazier things though.

Ads show what a truck can do, not what it’s designed for. The Raptor is made to be versatile, not a dedicated dirt bike hauler.
But that last comment you made doesn’t really add anything… seems like you’re generalizing.

Couldn’t agree more. And yeah, nice jab at Americans there.

I mean, hauling dirt bikes isn’t niche at all. It’s pretty much what trucks are for where I’m from. If you have to remove stuff from the bed, it kind of defeats the whole point of having a truck bed, doesn’t it?

Two months back, I paid $69k for a ‘22 with 24k miles. CPO Gold. It was hard to find one in blue without a sunroof.
Not the worst price, but I’d try to knock a few thousand off.

Nope. Paid $72k for a ‘23 with 18k miles. Just gotta be open to traveling a bit.

I paid $73k for a similar ‘23 with 11k miles about six months ago.

No way. If you look around, you can find a new ‘24 for that price. There’s maybe $5k worth of gear on it.

Looks like you’re in CA? Not the worst price for the west coast if you’re into the overland setup. Those accessories are pricey, so if that’s your style, I’d say $66-68k would be reasonable.

Pretty sure I’ve seen this same truck around SoCal. Compared to other Raptors on the market, it’s not a terrible deal. You can probably buy an extended warranty too. If you don’t get it, I might!
