Why is the Raptor such a popular choice among truck lovers?

I have a question here. What makes the Raptor more appealing than other F150 models? Is it the features? The design? Or something else?

I only owned a 19 XLT with a 3.3 V6, so I don’t have much to compare to. Any thoughts?

I can’t comment on the jumping, but the wide body of the Raptor is a big plus for me. The stance looks awesome.

There’s also the TRX, which has a similar wide body and an even bigger engine. What would make someone choose the Raptor over the TRX?

@Mackenzie
Never buy a TRX brand new. They’ve lost a lot of value. Plus, they get worse fuel economy, and with a 300-mile range on a tank, it’s a real hassle.

I bought my 2021 TRX for $83k MSRP and traded it in after 2.5 years and 30k miles for $70k. I averaged over 400 miles per tank, and on one long road trip, I even got 500 miles.

@Mackenzie
TRXs are stolen all the time where I live. I almost bought one before I went with the Raptor but didn’t want to spend extra on security systems and deal with that stress.

@Mackenzie
It’s a matter of preference—both are great trucks. Some people think the Raptor looks more aggressive, while others think the TRX looks a little smoother. The TRX has a nicer interior, though. Both trucks are fantastic.

@Milan
I agree. I’ve heard the Raptor revving on the highway, and it sounds mean, but the TRX sounds even more powerful with the 6.2 turbocharged HEMI V8.

I don’t have loyalty to either brand. If someone gave me a Raptor, I’d be just as happy as with a TRX.

@Mackenzie
The Raptor R has a supercharged V8, and the TRX is no longer in production.

The Raptor R is also faster, even though it has a smaller engine.

And it’s such a fun ride! I’ve never owned a car or truck that handles better. Sure, it’s expensive, but for me, it’s totally worth it compared to other vehicles in the same price range.

Just go test drive one and then let us know what you think… :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly, it comes down to comfort. There’s nothing else, aside from an S-Class, that’s as comfortable on long drives. The Raptor offers an amazing mix of utility and performance. Many race car drivers and supercar owners choose the Raptor as their go-to utility vehicle.

I saw the tent in the photo and thought, ‘Hey, that looks nice,’ but then zoomed in to see my kid looking annoyed. ‘Ugh, Dad’s taking pictures of the Raptor again!’

For me, it’s all about the ride. I’m probably going to catch some flak for not off-roading every weekend, but the suspension on the Raptor is incredible. After switching from my Jeep, the difference in ride quality is like night and day. Even the standard XLT F150 I tried didn’t compare to the Raptor.

@Addison
I made the same switch from a Jeep to a Raptor. It’s definitely the best riding vehicle I’ve ever had. I didn’t realize how bad the Jeep’s suspension was until I drove the Raptor.

For me, the widebody looks awesome, the Fox suspension is solid, and the 6.2 engine is a beast. I didn’t have to do any upgrades to get what I wanted in a truck. It’s simple, reliable, and just works.

For many, it’s because it’s top-tier, has that off-road style that became popular when people started making mall crawlers, and it’s rare and expensive. It’s a bargain, though. You could spend a lot more and not get a truck that performs as well off-road as the Raptor.
