Why get an SVT Raptor instead of a loaded F-150?

@Oren
Yes, I’ve driven both, and the Raptor feels much better. The extra width is noticeable but only an issue in tight parking spots. A rearview camera makes parking easier. For towing, it handles my 6,000-lb toy hauler with ease. There’s a little squat in the back, but a weight-distributing hitch fixes that.

Just do it.

The Lariat is more of a luxury truck, while the Raptor is performance-focused. Have you considered the EcoBoost V6 for the Lariat? People seem to love it.

I’m still not sold on turbos replacing displacement in a truck, especially for towing.

@Oren
They work great in diesels. Ever driven a non-turbo diesel? They’re pretty gutless by comparison.

The Raptor is the way to go. Who doesn’t want to say they’ve got a Raptor parked in their driveway?

I was drawn to the Raptor’s styling first, too. I don’t tow much, so I can’t speak to that, but the gas mileage is about the same as my old F-150 FX4. You’ll love it!

The Raptor’s 8,000-lb towing capacity is more than enough for me. I heard there’s an aftermarket leaf spring kit that can increase towing capacity without ruining off-road performance, but I’m not planning on jumping dunes, so I’m not worried.

Anyway, I ordered a Raptor! It was built last week and is now waiting at the rail yard for delivery to the dealer. Can’t wait!

Because it’s awesome.

The Raptor’s 4.10 gear ratio will give you better acceleration and towing performance compared to the regular F-150. It’s also more durable for off-roading. Just check maintenance and parts costs to make sure it fits your budget.
