In just the past week, I’ve noticed a surge in used Raptor R’s hitting the market, some with as little as 927 miles. Dealers are still pricing them way over MSRP. Is this a sign that buyers are regretting paying $40-$60k over MSRP, or is there another explanation?
Dealership GMs and owners probably used them as demos or personal vehicles, then resold them as ‘new.’

Exactly this. I saw one listed as new with 9k miles on it—scratched up and with an oil change light on. Dealer still wanted way over MSRP.
@Mori
Had a similar experience in NJ. Walked away and waited two weeks to get a 2024 at MSRP. Clowns.
I work at a Ford dealership. Sometimes owners buy these to ‘demo’ them, then list them as new. It’s shady but technically legal.

This is why I argue manufacturers should sell directly to customers, at least for high-demand models.
@Dallas
Ford is working on that, but the legal hurdles are immense.
Most people buying these trucks aren’t daily drivers. They have multiple vehicles, and the novelty of the Raptor wears off quickly.

I drive mine daily—12,000 miles since September! My Cayenne Turbo GT barely gets used.
Once the thrill of 0-60 wears off and the $1,800/month payments start to hit, people realize it’s not worth it.

$1,800? Try $2,800/month with a $20k down payment.
I think it’s just a mix of people flipping them for profit, realizing they overspent, or struggling with payments. At least it’s increasing supply and softening prices a bit.
Paying $140k for a truck? That’s a mortgage. Actually, that was a mortgage.
We’re going to see more lightly used cars hit the market as people default on loans. Raptor R’s aren’t immune to this trend.
Got mine a month ago and it’s a blast, but if someone is really paying $140k for a used one, I might consider selling it!
A friend sold his for the same price he bought it. Some dealerships are offering buybacks for these trucks because demand is still high.
For $140k, I could buy an R8. I don’t get it.
This has been happening for months. Feels like some people treat these trucks like the latest iPhone—flip them for the newest model.
Junk.
