Which one is better… Gen 1 or Gen 2?

Saw these two trucks and I can’t decide. What do you guys think is the better option?

That Gen 1 barely has any miles on it. The Gen 2 might need cam phasers soon.

Also, 2017 Gen 2s have the most problems. If you’re set on a Gen 2, go for the 2019 or 2020 models.

Glad you didn’t call out 2018! Mine’s had issues, but I still love it. :heart_eyes:

Barely broken in at 60k, but you think cam phasers will go bad at 90k?

Different engines. The Gen 2 has known cam phaser issues.

My 2019 Gen 2 has had a ton of issues. Cam phasers ($4,890), moonroof leak ($2,670), and more… but I’ve put so much into it, I can’t part with it now.

Plus, it’s got the legendary 6.2-liter engine. Basically Ford’s take on a Hemi but with overhead cams.

Bought my Gen 1 with 68k miles for $32k. Upgraded wheels, suspension, and brakes. It’s a gas guzzler but worth it!

I’ll try, but dealers seem to have lost their minds lately. I’ve seen 100k+ mile Gen 1s listed for $30k. Makes me wonder if these prices are even justified.

More like save it for maintenance. It’s an 11-year-old truck.
