1-owner, clean Carfax. What’s everyone’s take?
Just a heads up—if it’s got SYNC1, you can’t swap it out for something else.

Yeah, SYNC1 is rough. I ended up going aftermarket with CarPlay.

Wait, I thought SYNC1 couldn’t be swapped? I have SYNC2 on my 2013, but no physical buttons for seat heat/AC, so I’m stuck between upgrading to SYNC3 or going with a cheap Tesla-style screen.
@Kit
They replaced my screen with a Kenwood unit and added buttons. Only downside is no Sirius weather radar anymore, but with Starlink now, I don’t really miss it.
It even has climate controls built-in, though I still use the physical buttons. I just wish the screen was bigger—got spoiled sitting in a 2025 Ram for work.
@Tallis
What shop did you use to upgrade? I’ve been wanting to do the same.

A local car audio shop called CJ Sounds.
I’ve got an ’11 white SCREW with 155K miles. Haven’t regretted it for a second.
Don’t forget to check that Carfax!
My 2014 has 179K miles and runs like a champ. Go for it!
Looks like a solid deal! Just make sure you check these things:
- Service records
- 4WD functionality
- Sunroof (they’re known to have issues)
- Shocks: they’re supposed to be rebuilt every 50K miles, or sooner if it’s been off-road a lot. Mine were completely shot and cost $2K to replace (got $500 back for the cores).
- Transmission service history, brakes, CV axles, etc.
I added bed supports and a tonneau cover—definitely worth it. Overall, my Raptor’s been a dream to drive. It’s exactly what I imagined when I first saw one on TV 15 years ago. Plus, people always compliment it. “Nice Raptor!” never gets old.
Looks like a good deal. Just budget for shocks and probably some drivetrain maintenance—it’s expected at this point.
Solid deal.
I picked up a 2012 with 110K miles three years ago in SoCal. Great truck.
Looks good! Just keep in mind that Florida dealerships hit you with a $2K doc fee.

Wait, what? A $2K doc fee?

Yep. Florida dealers charge a “documentation fee” just for putting the paperwork together. The average is around $1,300, but some go as high as $2K.
@Hadi
All dealerships charge doc fees. Florida just doesn’t have a cap on them, so they jack up the prices more than anywhere else.

I’ve never paid $2K for a doc fee, and no one should.
@Ray
You’d probably need to buy out of state. By law, they have to charge everyone a doc fee—even the GM pays it. They might discount the car price to cover it, but it’s super rare to see it removed entirely.
