Got mine, and I might only take it off-road a few times, but I love it every day. I start it up from my key fob just to hear it roar. It’s comfy when I want to chill, but if I put it in Baja mode under a bridge? Pure happiness. Gas mileage sucks, but as this forum says, smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon!
Coolest thing I’ve ever driven. Zero regrets. Trading in my 2018 for a 2024 soon and can’t wait. Go test drive one!
Do you want something big and fun or something quiet and boring? Most of us don’t push these trucks to their limit, but they make everyday driving more exciting.
Most people buy Raptors just because they want one, not because they ‘need’ it. If you build another F-150 to match the Raptor’s performance, you’d probably spend even more.

If you have bad roads where you live, the Gen 3 Raptor’s rear coil suspension makes a big difference. If you’re just on pavement, an upgraded non-Raptor F-150 can get close in feel.

The 802A package mostly gets you nicer shocks, which only really help in serious off-roading. If you like the look, though, go for it.
The biggest downside is size. If you can deal with that, it’s a great truck.
@Kit
Did your old F-150 have a rear locker?
Thought about a Raptor for years. My SUV died, so I bought a used 2022 Raptor four months ago.
I overthink every purchase and usually regret big buys, but I drive this thing daily and love it. Even seeing the 17mpg doesn’t bother me.
If you’re thinking about it, go test drive one, take a few days to think, and decide. If you can afford it, go for it.
The only SUV that made me hesitate was a blacked-out Explorer ST. Maybe check out a Bronco Raptor, too, but the feedback on those has been mixed.
Having a truck that makes you smile every time you start it up, plus being able to haul stuff whenever you need? That’s the move. Get the Raptor.
