I’m obsessed with the Raptor but don’t need one. I’d mostly use it as a daily driver. Coming from a Land Rover Defender, I’m worried the size might be too much after the initial excitement fades. I drive into the city a few times a month and park in garages—the Defender fits fine, but the Raptor’s width has me concerned.
I’ve got a great deal on a 2023 Raptor (below sticker and high trade-in value), but before I commit, I’d love to hear from anyone who owns one. How is it as a daily driver? Thanks, and Happy New Year!
I don’t have a Raptor, but I’ve had my 2-door Bronco for almost 2 years, and I’m still in love with it. Maybe consider a smaller trim if the size is a concern?
The Bronco is much less luxurious than your Defender. You’ll get a premium off-road vehicle, but don’t expect the same interior quality or quiet ride. As long as you’re okay with that, you’ll be happy.
BRaptor newbie here! Had mine for 10 days now. Drove it in the city for a bit before heading out to the ranch. Width hasn’t been an issue in normal parking spaces, but compact spots are a no-go. The turning radius is great, and navigating busy areas hasn’t been a problem.
Keep in mind it’s not a luxury ride. You’re paying for utility, not comfort. The road noise is noticeable, and some features you’d expect at this price point—like cooled seats—aren’t there. If you’re good with the price and love the truck, go for it! Worst case, you can sell it later.
I have both a Defender 90 and a Bronco Badlands. For daily driving, the Defender is the clear winner—luxury and smoothness. The Bronco drives and feels like a truck. Bronco Raptors are cool, but I wouldn’t trade my Defender for one.
@Dev
I’ve got a Defender 90x. I love how it drives, but it’s been in the shop four times since I bought it in 2021. I’m worried about dealing with issues once it’s out of warranty. I test drove the Raptor, and while it’s not as smooth as the Defender, it drives fine and has the features I need. My main concern is the size. Gas isn’t great either, but I’m used to that misery with the Defender.
@Skyler
I hear you. My Defender’s been in the shop a couple of times, too. If you’re over the Defender’s issues and love the Raptor, I say go for it. The F-150 Raptor might also be worth considering—it’s bigger but has even more capability.
The Raptor isn’t a luxury vehicle, which is why some people resell them quickly. Cool truck, yes, but it’s not going to match the Defender’s comfort. If you’re okay with that, and you’ve got the cash, go for it.
I daily drive my Raptor and love it—6k miles in 4 months. That said, parking garages can be tricky. My work garage is 6’9”, and the antenna scrapes a lot. Tight lanes in construction zones are where the width feels most noticeable. It’s not as luxurious as a Defender, but it’s comfortable for its size and handles long drives well. If you go for it, get the upgraded seats!
I daily my Bronco Raptor with no issues. The width is manageable unless you’re dealing with people who can’t park. If you’re getting a good deal, I say go for it!

Buying a Raptor is a low-risk decision. If you’re obsessed with it, scratch the itch. If it doesn’t work out, sell it.
Just know that vehicle prices are coming down. Unless it’s a rare exotic, most new cars lose value quickly. Buy the Raptor because you love it and can afford it, not as an investment.
Had my Raptor for a few months, and it still feels like a dream every time I get in. The power is amazing, the seats are comfortable, and it looks fantastic. It’s a confidence booster for sure!
