Raptor as daily driver?

Anyone here ever have or had a raptor and use it as a daily driver? Tbh I know realistically I’d never use it to its full capability off road, it’s mainly for its looks as I feel like modifying a regular f150 to look like a raptor is a little cheesy. Engine reliability etc

I was working as a contractor at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn. While standing outside the headquarters, a guy in a suit came out, jumped into his Raptor, and sped out of the parking lot, leaving tire marks behind. My friend, who had been with Ford for 20 years, said, “That’s the Chief Operating Officer.”

In short, that guy pulled it off – live it up, young man!

It’s excessive for a daily driver and feels a bit too “floaty” for my taste. In my opinion, the Tremor offers a better balance between capability and on-road comfort. Plus, if you go with the 5.0 engine, you can always add a supercharger later if you start feeling bored with the vehicle.

The Powerboost F150 is ideal as a daily driver, offering the best combination of fuel efficiency and power. However, if fuel economy isn’t a concern, the Raptor is a solid option too.

I love my 2022 Powerboost as my daily driver. It’s more fuel-efficient than my previous 2.7L, saving about 3L/100km on my typical commute. The 2.7L did get better mileage on the highway, averaging 7.5-8L/100km on road trips, whereas I get around 9L/100km on the same trips with my Powerboost. That said, I might be passing more cars since the Powerboost has noticeably more power when accelerating at highway speeds. The extra power is also very noticeable when towing my 7,000 lb travel trailer. While the Raptor looks cooler, the Powerboost is a better all-around option for daily use.

In 2021, the Powerboost was actually faster than the Raptor. It satisfies my need for acceleration while still offering around 9 L/100 km if I ease off the gas. That said… I can’t take my foot off the pedal—I’m hooked!

That’s likely what 90% of Raptor owners experience. The fuel efficiency is terrible, parking in tight spaces is a hassle, but aside from that, it’s just like any other truck.

I drive mine daily, and it’s awesome. I don’t mind sacrificing some fuel efficiency because I can fit my whole family in it and get anywhere comfortably and safely.

Slightly off-topic, but what RPMs are you seeing at highway speeds? I’m thinking about a Raptor axle/suspension upgrade, but the 4.10 gearing has me concerned for long-distance trips, especially since I average around 80 mph.
