I got my 2024 Raptor 6 weeks ago, and I posted about it here. I still held on to my 2021 Lariat because they told me I had to finish out the lease. Whatever, water under the bridge.
Today, I returned it to the dealer. Someone in my original post said that other trucks would be ruined for me, and damn it if they weren’t 100% right.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved my 2021. Great truck. Took it on many, many road trips and almost maxed out the leased miles.
But the 2024 F150 Raptor? It’s like driving a fighter jet in comparison. Driving back to the dealership, I thought to myself, ‘Damn, this 2021 FX4 Lariat feels like a 20-year-old beater next to my Raptor.’ What a truck!
I’ve owned around 70 vehicles, and the 2020 802A Raptor I recently picked up has been my favorite newer one (though my 72 Chevelle restomod is tough to beat). I had a 2020 GMC Sierra, 2018 Ram Lone Star, 2015 Silverado, and a 2023 Frontier Pro4X. The Raptor just feels better than all of them. It’s not a sports car, but I get what people mean by that. It feels like, ‘Hell yeah, this thing is amazing.’ They set out to build a capable off-road powerhouse that’s still practical on the streets. Could it use another 100 hp? Sure, but it doesn’t need it. It’s just an excellent truck.
@Riley
Intake intercooler and a tune from Goosetuned are perfect for that extra power. My 2020 Raptor has rebuilt shocks, icon leafs, and SDI top hats.
@Riley
I see Raptors like Evo and WRX—big go-karts that can go anywhere and do anything. They punch well above their weight and are a blast for daily driving. But they’re still practical, especially if you want a do-it-all truck.
Damn you all to hell! My 2015 Lariat 5.0 (302A) is the love of my life (in truck terms), but at 175k miles, it’s developing electrical quirks. You’re not making this any easier on me!
