I heard that Ford requires their dealers to sell custom orders at MSRP. When I reached out to my local dealer, they said they can’t do that for Raptors. Is this true? I’m really interested in the vehicle and can wait if it means I can eventually get one at MSRP, but I’m not sure if that’s possible with Raptors.
The allocations for 2024 are likely already taken. You’ll need to wait for the 2025 model year. Call around to dealerships, but it’s a long shot. Most will only place stock orders, and Ford won’t make it without an allocation.
@Riley
That makes sense. Thank you! Do you know how to ‘get in line’ for 2025 allocations?

Keep an eye on Ranger forums to see when the 2025 order banks open. Most dealerships don’t keep a formal ‘line,’ so it’s best to stay in touch with them regularly. You could also ask your dealership to place a 2024 order knowing it won’t get made, as they might roll it over to a 2025 allocation.
Ford doesn’t require dealers to sell Rangers or Raptors at MSRP. They can sell for whatever they want.

I thought Ford required custom orders to be sold at MSRP. Is that not true?
@Brooke
Ford doesn’t let you order Raptors directly. They’re tied to dealer allocations. So it’s up to the dealer if they’ll sell it at MSRP or add a markup.

Thanks for clearing that up! That makes sense now.
I ordered mine at MSRP last March, but it took a year to get a build date. If you’re patient, you might be able to find a dealer willing to do it at MSRP.
It’s up to the dealer. In New York, the lowest markup I’ve seen is $5k over MSRP. I’ve heard of dealers asking for $20k over in some places. It’s wild.

One dealer near me in CA is asking $40k over MSRP! They said they might lower it to $25k with a deposit, but that’s still ridiculous.
@Avery
You could get one shipped from out of state for less than that. These kinds of markups are crazy.
Call Ford corporate and report the dealer. They’ve said they’ll reduce allocations for dealers that pull stunts like this.

Ford can’t force dealers to sell at MSRP. They’ve only said they’d take action if a dealer violates a signed purchase agreement with a customer, not for general markups.
@Riley
Ford did say they’d reduce allocations for dealers abusing markups. It was all over the news last year.
