I’m looking at a used 2020 Raptor with 50k miles, listed at $58k. I’m wondering if it’s a good buy. How long can I expect it to last? I won’t be using it as a daily driver but do plan to take it on trails and have fun on the highway occasionally.
Are there any common issues or things I should look out for with these trucks? Any advice or experiences would really help me make a decision. Thanks in advance!
Do you know what package it has? 802A? I’ve got a 2019 with 802A, and it’s been flawless. If you want the best production truck out there, go for it. Mine’s under warranty to 100k, and it’s been worth every penny.
It’ll last a long time as long as you stay on top of maintenance—regular oil changes, using quality fuel, etc. Also, definitely get an extended warranty. Repairs these days are so pricey; my warranty on an Expedition paid for itself with just one water pump replacement.
Another vote for getting a warranty. I got a bit too rough with mine during the first week and ended up with a broken tie rod. Also, get the truck inspected before you buy it.
And budget for tires—this thing loves to eat through them, especially if you enjoy breaking traction.
I have mixed feelings about warranties. Dealerships can be such a hassle—like keeping your truck for two days to look at a shifter button. They’ll even suggest watching YouTube to fix it yourself!
I paid $60k for a 2020 Raptor 802A with the carbon fiber package and dropped $6k on warranties. I feel safer, but yeah, dealerships can be shady sometimes.

How’s the truck been so far? Is it as fun to drive as I’m hoping?
@Harley
It’s a blast to drive! Only issue I’ve had is an exhaust leak at the flex pipe, which can get pretty rusty. Definitely check under the truck before buying.
