How to mount a Starlink on your Raptor?

I’m fabricating a Starlink mount for a Gen1 Raptor with an existing bed rack. Adding new tubes to it for support and attaching the Starlink. Also working on some bumper and skid plate modifications.

Not sure what’s going on here, but that’s a cool truck.

Thanks! I’m making a custom Starlink mount and modifying the front bumper for lights. Also redoing the skid plate design. It’s been a fun project.

@Tait
Why not just use your phone as a hotspot?

Hotspots don’t work in a lot of remote areas. Satellite is much more reliable.

My iPhone has a satellite connection now. I think it came with the recent update. Maybe it’s similar to Starlink?

@Dru
It’s not Starlink and isn’t for data. The satellite feature on iPhones is just for emergency use, not for running a hotspot.

I just use tape and glue for my mounts, but this looks way better. Always love seeing updates on your projects!

Appreciate it! :smile:

I use the PCI mini magnet mount. Took it to Mexico twice, and it stayed put the whole time.

Haha, not everyone’s truck is steel! Some of us have aluminum bodies, you know? :joy: Yeah, I’ll look into that. This setup keeps everything in the back and avoids adding height to an already big truck.

@Tait
The PCI mini is solid. Make sure you get the angles right when you mount it. I’ve used it on multiple trips, and it’s been perfect.

Two of my friends mounted their Starlink Minis using suction mounts on the inside of the rear sunroof panel. They say it works great.

I started with the SeaSucker suction mounts but decided to build something more permanent. The suction mounts didn’t work as well for the owner’s setup.

What bumper is that?

It’s one I designed and built myself.

That’s some amazing craftsmanship. Nice work!

A local friend of mine is selling these: https://www.highspeedmounts.com/collections/f150-raptor

I’ve got a silver Gen1 as well. Did you do all the upgrades yourself?

This isn’t my truck. My shop did a lot of the work, but not everything.
