How does the 2023 Raptor tow?

I currently have a F250 Tremor. Great truck, but its a bit much for a daily. Considering purchasing a used 2023 Raptor with low miles. We run alot of forest service roads in the Summer every weekend to get up to our cabin. Thinking the raptor will handle the bumps much better. We bring regular supplies up to camp, coolers, water, beers, etc. Just two adults and 2 small dogs.

We tow a 23 ft snowmobile trailer, which is all aluminum. With both sleds we are about 3400lb. I cant run a WDH hitch on this trailer. Will the raptor level out, or squat with this much weight?

Does the Rap sound like a good fit?

I tow 6k regularly, and it feels great. Mine’s a 24 37 pack, and I even average 11.9 mpg while towing.

Nice! The 37 pack is definitely sweet.

Do you experience any squat with the trailer? Are you using a WDH (Weight Distribution Hitch)?

Get the Air Lift 1000, part 60865, and it will handle the squat. Keep it at 5 psi when not in use. I’m not a fan of towing with it, but to each their own.

Does it affect off-road performance at all? Like I mentioned, we don’t do hardcore off-roading, just riding on forest roads.

I haul a tandem axle utility trailer with a Mav R (PHX to Glamis), mostly on flat terrain, so I can’t speak to hills, but it definitely handles fine without any struggle. The biggest issue I see is the squat in the rear, as that will definitely wear down the rear suspension over time. I’m not really looking to add airbags or change the springs, but I might consider it if I switch to a cargo trailer.

I hear you on the Tremor as a daily driver. Ours is purely for towing.

It should be fine. Wind resistance will be the bigger factor, but with all the torque the EcoBoost puts out, it’ll handle it no problem. Most Raptor owners don’t tow, so if they do and feel the trailer behind them, they might think something’s wrong. As long as the weights are all good, you’ll be good to go. However, the shorter wheelbase will feel a bit less stable.

I’m curious about the trailer because our steel/wood flatbed weighs 3,500 lbs unloaded.

It depends on the pin weight, but you should be good, especially without a level. I tow a 4-seat RZR with a level, and I’m guessing it’s around 3k, and it handles just fine.
