Got a 23 Raptor 37 with full PPF (XPEL Stealth?)... got a few questions

Picked up a 2023 Raptor 37 with full PPF, possibly XPEL Stealth. The truck looks amazing, but I’m new to matte finishes and PPF care. Any advice on washing, maintenance, or identifying the exact PPF used would be awesome.

Washing matte finishes takes a little more care than normal paint. Make sure you use pH-neutral soap without any gloss enhancers.

Appreciate the heads-up. I’ll do some more research on the best products to use.

Yeah, FRH is right, but I’ve got a full matte PPF too, and honestly, the soap didn’t make a huge difference for me. I wouldn’t stress too much. I’ve even run mine through regular car washes a few times without any problems. It’s more about convenience for me.

@Teal
The key difference is between matte paint and matte PPF. From what I’ve read, matte PPF doesn’t need as much special care.

Got it. That makes sense. Thanks for clarifying!

You should check the Carfax report. It might list the PPF installation, or you could contact the company that did the work to confirm what product they used.

Thanks! I checked, and the Carfax just says ‘window tint’ installed by the dealer. I’m thinking they might’ve outsourced the PPF at the same time. I’ll call the dealership tomorrow to ask.

Congrats! That truck looks awesome. :+1:

Man, that’s an amazing setup! I just bought a 2023 Raptor 37 too, but mine’s still being shipped across the country. I want the XPEL Stealth PPF and a bed drawer system like yours. If you visit XPEL’s website, they’ve got info on maintaining the PPF. You can also try contacting the dealership or XPEL directly to track down the installer—they probably have records since they offer long warranties.

By the way, PPF is pricey, like $7k-$10k depending on your area. What color is your truck’s paint? How many miles are on it? And if you don’t mind, how much did you pay?

Just curious—how does the price of your truck with PPF compare to ones without it?

What’s that thing in the bed of the truck?

Looks like a Decked drawer system.

Ceramic Pro also makes a matte PPF, and it should be warrantied like XPEL. I know Ceramic Pro’s warranty info gets attached to the Carfax report, so you might want to check that if you haven’t already.

Is this the one I saw in Lithia Springs?

Great pick-up! Matte PPF is way better than matte paint—easier to maintain and great protection. Just search for care tips specific to matte PPF. There are soaps and products designed for it that work really well.
