Can I get a Raptor R for MSRP or will dealer expect a ridiculous amount?
I’m sure this thread will attract a lot of negativity, and rightly so given the behavior of many Ford dealers. However, I have one on order at MSRP from a highly reputable dealer here in the Great White North. This dealer has only done MSRP deals on Raptor R’s and sells about 15 EcoBoost Raptors per quarter. The sales rep told me the dealer owner strongly dislikes markups and even fired a long-standing sales manager for accepting a bribe to secure a GT500 allocation.
While I won’t know for sure if they’ll stick to the deal until it’s finalized, I spoke with a couple of 2023 Raptor R buyers from this dealer, and they had no issues. I’ve been waiting since August, so who knows what will happen, but so far, everything seems fine.
I understand that finding cooperative dealers can be really challenging.
It’s a tough decision. I drive a 2018 model daily, and it’s incredible. I had dreams of upgrading to an R, but after reading some reviews and realizing the reality of getting single-digit fuel economy, it just seems incredibly impractical—especially coming from someone who already owns a “regular” Raptor.
It depends on your relationship with the dealer and your location.
My local dealer offered me an R at MSRP for 2025, and I’m seriously considering it, but I’m not sure if I really need it.
You might be able to find a dealer willing to order one for you at MSRP, but it’s unlikely you’ll find one already on a dealer’s lot at that price.
I called several dealers in my area this week about getting an R. The only dealer I found offering MSRP had 25 people on the waiting list and was expecting to receive 5-7 R’s over the next 12 months.
I don’t think the R is worth it, even at MSRP. It’s $30k more than the regular Raptor, which means they’re charging you about $15k extra for no real reason, considering a 3.5 crate motor is around $15k and the GT500 5.2 is $28-34k.
It’s only worth it if you’ve got money to burn.
