I am looking to purchase Ford F150 as my first time ever pick up truch.
I was originally going to buy used Taycan as our family is really enjoying Telsa Model Y but suddenly fell in love with Raptor and its growing harder everyday.
I am probably going to buy something around 20-30K mileage and have only one question.
Hows reliability on this truck? Is it reasonable for me to think i can drive this upto 100K mileage without major issue?
I see this advice frequently, and I wish it worked in Florida or California. Unfortunately, we need to find something reasonable in-state. If anyone has recommendations for Florida, please share!
Just remember that driving or owning a truck is quite different from having an SUV. The Raptor is pretty large, so you’ll need to be mindful of short parking garages. It takes up a lot of space in parking spots and doesn’t handle narrow city streets very well.
Most Raptors are just pavement princesses. If you’re in Texas, you might come across one that I owned, which I raced in Raptor runs all over the state. Just make sure to check all the nooks and crannies, like the suspension components for leaks and any mud or hard dust-like rocks in the engine bay. Simple things like that. Even after several Raptor runs with the Gen 1 and Gen 2 models, I had around 80-110k miles on them before trading them in.
What does this even mean? Buying used means no depreciation hit as you drive off the lot and you can get an extended warranty (especially since it would be within the 3 year/36,000 mile factory one) that could cover them for 7 more years to 100,000 miles.
A used 2023 Gen 3 with around 25,000 miles should be an absolutely solid truck for years to come if they buy the warranty.
