Dark stains on my plastic parts… how do I fix this?

Tire shine?

Oh, ouch. So without asking or reading comments, these four photos tell me this was caused by someone who was ‘cleaning and detailing’ this truck but didn’t know what they were doing or didn’t care. Sorry if that’s you, but I’m going to assume you use a drive-through car wash at least some of the time?

When you have nice things, people are jealous and may even do something to make your things look not so nice. Unfortunately, my husband and I have learned this the hard way, so both of our vehicles have never seen a car wash, and we always park in the back of parking lots away from other cars and carts. I can’t tell you how to fix this, but I wouldn’t give others an opportunity to ruin your vehicle.

I have the same spec, same color, none of that at all.

I don’t know if it makes a difference, but I also have ceramic coating on it. I got it put on about a year ago; it cost $1200, so it wasn’t cheap. Can’t say that it was worth it, but that could have something to do with why it looks newer. It does look like some sort of soap or something that’s affected yours. You can always get the trim repainted, though. I crashed into a mailbox, and I have some damage on the front. I’m trying to get it fixed.

Thank you! It belonged to my late father; he loved it and wouldn’t take a million dollars for that truck.
