Walked up to this F450 owner to ask if I could take a comparison picture. We both laughed, and he dropped what’s now my favorite quote: “You don’t buy green bananas at my age.” No idea how it connected to the moment, but it stuck with me!
That’s an old-timer classic. It basically means, ‘I might not be around long enough to see those bananas ripen.’ Morbid but funny.

Your Maverick looks awesome with those mods! What else are you planning to do?
Thanks! More mods are coming soon. I’m trying to catch up to Bwicka’s level, but that guy has years of experience. I’m just figuring things out as I go.
@Gael
What hood deflector is that?
That quote might’ve meant he’s interested in the Maverick but wants to wait and see how the tech holds up. Meanwhile, you’re hauling just as much air as he is but using way less gas.

Nah, he’s an old-school rancher. Dude is definitely putting that F450 to work.

People don’t buy F450s just to get groceries.
@Addison
Unless it’s groceries for the cows.
@Addison
Sometimes, people just buy big trucks for the flex. If they needed serious hauling, they’d just get a cheap tractor.
I think the green banana thing means he’d rather stick to what he knows (ripe banana) than take a chance on newer tech (green banana).

Or maybe it’s a joke that your Maverick isn’t “ripe” yet, and at his age, he can’t wait for it to “ripen.”
@Paxton
Haha, that’s actually hilarious. You’re probably right!
I’ve heard that phrase before. It’s a subtle way of saying, ‘Spend now, enjoy now—you can’t take it with you.’

Exactly. Why save for later when there might not be a later?
Your grill looks awesome. Where did you get it?

It’s a Chinese Ford Raptor Maverick grill from eBay. I paint-matched it, but I kind of regret doing that. Glad you like the style though!
@Gael
Looks great on your truck! Mine’s black, so I wouldn’t need to paint-match. Could you share a link?

Sure thing! Here’s the link to the eBay listing. Ford letters aren’t shown in the photo for copyright reasons, but they’re included.
@Gael
How was the install?
That F450 is a beast. I’ve only ever seen them used for business purposes. Imagine soccer moms driving one for clout.
