Considering trading in my GT350 for a Ranger Raptor since it just sits in the garage and hardly ever sees track time. I’ve got a Model 3 Performance for the speed itch, but I’m really going to miss having a manual. Also, I want to be able to keep it in the garage, so the F-150 is out. Between the Bronco and Ranger, I’m leaning towards the Ranger for the truck bed.
Anyone else here make the move and have any regrets?
@Ira
So you’re just doing your research then, haven’t actually made the switch?
I can tell you that driving a truck can be as exciting as you make it. I’ve had a bunch of sports cars, last one being a C6 Z06. I love my Raptor, but I also live in the desert and have plenty of open space to drive it hard. If you’ve got room for off-roading, it’ll scratch that itch for sure. Otherwise, if you’re only on paved roads, it could feel a bit tame.

How do you like the GT350? I’m really considering getting one; they look so good.
It’s an amazing car but can be a bit of a handful. It looks fantastic and sounds even better, but it has its quirks. Where I live, the 295 fronts make it grab at curbs on bumpy roads, so it’s not great for quick runs to the store. Also, it takes a while to get the oil up to temp to really enjoy that high redline.
I took it on a canyon drive once—best drive of my life. But for long trips, it’s rough, not really meant for cruise control. Also, prepare for under-10 MPG if you drive it like it’s meant to be driven!
@Ira
Thanks for the insight! I love the raw feeling. For the price, it feels like a lot of car.
I’ve got a Gen 1 Raptor, so I’m used to ignoring the gas mileage The Broncos impress me off-road, haven’t seen a Ranger in action yet, but I bet it’s similar. And you’d save about $20k with a Ranger.
@Pace
I have one too, and yeah, it mostly sits in the garage, but I love using it for quick errands. I just let it warm up for 10 minutes. Canyon drives in it are amazing, but I don’t mind using cruise for long stretches. Not super comfy, but it gets the job done.
Keep the GT350 and get a Raptor! It’s a great combo. My GT350R sits in the garage a lot, but it’s fun to have options. I just got an Accessport and Goosetune for the Raptor, too, to make it even better.
I had my 2018 M2 and 2023 Raptor together for a year. In that year, I only drove the M2 twice, so I sold it recently. It was paid off, but still costing me $1,500 a year in insurance and losing value.
The M2 was a blast, and I miss the speed, but the Raptor’s height and safety are great. It’s not super fast but has enough power for most driving situations.
Haha, knew someone would say that. But honestly, the Model 3 Performance with track mode is insane. Tesla did some impressive things with this model, although removing the stalks was questionable. I’ll put up with turn signal buttons for how well it handles.
