Anyone here compare R1T and Raptor… which one’s better?

@Benn
Have you tried Rally Mode on the R1T? It’s fantastic on dirt roads.

Haven’t yet, but I’ll check it out.

@Benn
Do you think better tires and bead locks would help the R1T off-road?

Sure, but my main worry is breaking something far from a service center. It’s great for what it is, but if I’m serious about off-roading, I’ll take my old Tacoma instead.

I had a 2018 Raptor before my R1T. Both are awesome trucks. The Raptor is cooler for looks and sound, but it’s high maintenance. The Rivian is faster, cheaper, and has better tech. If you can, test drive both. Or dream big and grab a Raptor R while you’re at it!

@Milan
If only the Raptor R wasn’t insanely marked up!

@Milan
Same here. My Raptor’s cam phaser rattle drove me nuts. The Rivian’s a breath of fresh air.

I switched from a Raptor to an R1T and don’t regret it. The Rivian is just a better fit for my needs. Ford’s service was awful in my area, and the Rivian’s tech and driving dynamics are way ahead. It’s not perfect, but I’d recommend trying both to see what works for you.

I liked my Raptor more—it had more personality. But the Rivian’s faster, more refined, and cheaper to own. Different vibes, but the Rivian’s a fun change of pace.

Aftermarket for the Rivian is still growing. Give it time!

@Finnian
Fair, but I still miss the Raptor’s vibe.

The last part of your comment made me laugh. The Rivian crowd can be intense sometimes.

Raptor vs R1T is all about personality. The Raptor screams, “Look at me!” The R1T is quieter, more about the driver’s experience. Both are great, just depends what you want.

This whole post feels a bit too much like stereotyping.

Funny how Rivian owners love to paint Raptor folks as obnoxious, yet they can be just as bad.

“Can’t roll coal in a Rivian, so it’s not as good at annoying people”—Ford Raptor owner, probably.

You can’t roll coal unless it’s a diesel anyway!

There’s been some good discussions on this topic on other forums. Might be worth a look.

It really depends on where you live. If Rivian’s infrastructure isn’t in your area, it might not be as practical.
