Hey all, I have a 2014 and want to upgrade the sync system just to be able to have apple play. Do any of you have a recommended vendor? The eBay ones make me nervous but I’d be willing to go that route if people have had good luck. Thanks in advance
FourSyncTech.com. Everyone I’ve talked to says to get it from there. I’ll be buying mine from there sometime soon. They program it according to your VIN number. You just plop it in.

I can vouch! His prices were the best I could find. It convinces every Gen 1 owner I meet that still has Sync 2.
Grab a used sync 3 api and screen from ebay along with a USB port that can use carplay. Sync 3 should be a direct plug/play for you. Loads of threads out there go into detail of what to buy and install steps.
Another for foursynctech.com. Anthony is the man when it comes to this swap and his support is unmatched. I run a system from him in my 2014 and even my front camera works. His units come jailbroken and when you really want to dive into that abyss fmods.net has everything you need to run custom GUI.

Oh what, the front camera works? That was my hesitation for upgrading to Sync 3.
I just pulled my sync 3 out of a totaled Ford Edge. A little forscan magic and it works perfect.
